Paris Savant Pivot Cup

SOLD INDIVIDUALLY — MOST SETUPS REQUIRE TWO

Pivot cups are the single most critical interface in a truck system. They define the axis the hanger rotates around — and therefore define how the entire system feels.

Core Function: Pivot cups control axis fidelity, steering response, and system stability.

This is where Riot started — and why the industry began paying attention to pivot detail in the first place.

The pivot interface is responsible for keeping the hanger constrained to its intended axis while allowing smooth, controlled articulation.

  • Too Loose: Uncertainty, twitch, random movement, poor feedback
  • Too Tight: Stick-slip behavior, delayed response, fights turn and return-to-center

Both conditions degrade control — just in different ways.

Instability at the pivot interface compounds quickly and can contribute directly to oscillations at speed.

Fit

Fit

  • Paris Savant

Engineering

Flagship Engineering

Worn or poorly fitting pivot cups allow the hanger to deviate from its intended axis. At that point, no amount of bushing tuning will correct the underlying instability.

  • Delayed or inconsistent steering response
  • Reduced rider feedback
  • Increased likelihood of oscillation (speed wobble)

Common assumption — incorrect: tighter is better.

Reality Check: Stuffing oversized urethane into a pivot bore and relying on lubricant is compensation, not precision.

Proper pivot cups are designed around controlled interference and correct geometry, not brute force installation.

If a pivot cup is difficult to install, it is not properly fit.

All pivot cups feature an integrated weep hole to eliminate trapped air during installation. This prevents the cup from popping back out of the cavity and allows smooth, consistent seating without fighting compressed air beneath the part.

Bottom line: If the pivot is wrong, the system is wrong.

Materials & Durometer

Material System

Manufactured from RiotThane™, Riot’s proprietary high-rebound polyurethane elastomer engineered for controlled elasticity and long-term compression stability.

Available in multiple durometers so the rider can tune the balance between road damping and steering response — without compromising axis control.

Response Tuning

Available in 85A, 87.5A, 90A, 92.5A, 95A, and 100A.

Softer pivot cups increase road damping and reduce transmitted vibration. Harder pivot cups sharpen steering response and reduce deformation at the interface.

Tradeoff: This is where you choose how much road damping versus steering response you want — while still keeping the hanger on its proper axis.
