Support Pin Bushings are the compliance element that allows the Ronin support system to function as a damped retention system rather than a rigid constraint.
Core Function: They control how the support system engages while still allowing the boardside bushing to do its job.
When properly tuned, the system provides strong anti-sway support while still allowing the rider to float on the boardside bushing through the lean cycle.
The support pin does not operate independently — it works in parallel with the boardside bushing.
The support pin bushing defines how load is shared between these two elements.
- Balanced: Controlled support with smooth, progressive engagement
- Too Soft: Boardside bushing carries too much load → unsupported, vague feel
- Too Hard: Prevents proper boardside compression → twitchy, over-constrained feel
This component has the least effect on the system based on durometer — albeit still effective — but it is absolutely necessary to be present and the correct height for the trucks to function as intended.
