Measurement reference
About the Riot Truck Database
The Riot Truck Database is a physical-measurement reference for skateboard truck hangers and baseplates. Riders, builders, and manufacturers can compare real component geometry for bushing selection, setup research, and dimensional compatibility work. Engineering values come from physical truck measurements; WooCommerce product weights and dimensions are shipping data only.
Measurement methodology & interpretation
What hanger measurements are included?
Hanger records may include kingpin-to-pivot distance, hanger width, rake, axle offset, kingpin-hole diameter, pivot diameter, pivot length, pivot type, roadside and boardside seat geometry, seat depths, distance between bushings, bushing bias, and bushing-seat diameters.
What baseplate measurements are included?
Baseplate records may include baseplate angle, kingpin position, kingpin length from the baseplate, pivot-axis position, pivot-cavity diameter, pivot-cavity depth, and bottom-seat type.
What units does the database use?
Linear truck dimensions are recorded in millimeters. Baseplate angles are recorded in degrees. Values are stored as measurements rather than rounded product-category labels, so small dimensional differences may be meaningful.
What do roadside and boardside mean?
Roadside refers to the side of the hanger and bushing stack facing away from the deck. Boardside refers to the side facing the deck and baseplate. The two seat measurements are kept separate because their shapes, depths, or diameters may differ.
How are measurements recorded?
Measurements are taken from physical truck components and entered as individual hanger or baseplate records. Measured dimensions are kept separate from descriptive fields such as support type, pivot type, seat type, truck family, and compatibility notes.
Why can two examples of the same truck measure differently?
Manufacturing tolerances, model revisions, wear, coatings, hardware, and measurement access can produce small differences between otherwise similar parts. A database value is a measured reference for that record, not a guarantee that every example is dimensionally identical.
Are shipping dimensions used?
No. WooCommerce product weights and dimensions are used only for shipping and fulfillment. They are never treated as physical truck measurements in this database.
How should compatibility results be interpreted?
A dimensional match is a useful starting point, not an automatic guarantee of safe compatibility. Truck family, pivot design, kingpin clearance, bushing-seat shape, hardware, intended use, tolerances, and model revisions can all matter.
Can a missing measurement be treated as zero?
No. A blank or unavailable value means that measurement has not been recorded or confirmed. It should not be interpreted as zero.
How are database errors or missing trucks reported?
Use the reporting tools inside the Truck Database to flag a possible error or request a truck that is not currently listed. Submitted information is reviewed before becoming part of the published measurement dataset.
